Dan Orlovsky was pressed on his quarterback favoritism, and now he\u2019s being pressed on his \u201cwhat it should look like\u201d comment.<\/p>\n
While joining ESPN Radio\u2019s\u00a0Unsportsmanlike\u00a0last Friday morning, Evan Cohen asked Orlovsky, \u201cWhy do you love quarterbacks who haven\u2019t done it versus those who have?<\/a>\u201d citing his affinity for Justin Herbert and Jordan Love, who have not won Super Bowls, as opposed to Jalen Hurts, who has won.<\/p>\n \u201cWhy do you love quarterbacks who haven\u2019t done it versus those who have? But some people on social media attempted to make it into a racial issue<\/a> by taking Orlovsky\u2019s comments about \u201clooks\u201d too literally.<\/p>\n Monday afternoon, Orlovsky went on The Pat McAfee Show where he was asked to clarify his \u201cwhat it should look like\u201d comment that became controversial.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018In relation to Herbert, that\u2019s kind of what big-time quarterback play looks like. And he\u2019s also accomplished a lot in the league historically\u2026 when I say, \u2018it looks like,\u2019 \u2013 big, tall, fast, powerful, strong, smart, big-time accuracy arm. That\u2019s all I said,\u201d Orlovsky explained.<\/p>\n In our initial write-up of the exchange, we similarly noted Orlovsky\u2019s \u201cshould look like\u201d comment referred to how a quarterback plays the position. And while Orlovsky might be alone in some of his quarterback rankings, he\u2019s not alone when it comes to fawning over Herbert. NFL analysts constantly tout Herbert as having the potential to be one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, despite never winning a playoff game.<\/p>\n Orlovsky noted Cohen was very apologetic after Friday\u2019s exchange about quarterback favoritism went viral. Orlovsky aptly maintained there was nothing wrong with the question. And there wasn\u2019t. Maybe it wasn\u2019t the question Orlovsky expected to be asked, but it was a fair question and a reasonable answer. Cohen knew what Orlovsky meant by \u201cwhat it should look like.\u201d Most people watching knew what Orlovsky meant, but the vagueness of the comment let people turn it into something bigger.<\/p>\n \t
