Will Dante Moore secure his status as one of the top quarterback talents entering the 2027 NFL Draft?<\/p>\n

While Moore and the Oregon Ducks haven’t exactly gotten off to a flying start, they did dominate in an 84-0 Week 3 win over Portland State.<\/p>\n

In that game, the Oregon star and potential No. 1 pick<\/a> did exactly what he was supposed to do. Moore completed 19 of 23 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns.<\/a><\/p>\n

The pocket presence, the efficiency, the arm talent. It was all there.<\/p>\n

But can Moore deliver that same type of performance when the competition gets tougher? That’s the question he still has to answer as Oregon gets deeper into its schedule.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the NFL Mock Draft Roundup<\/a> looks at three potential landing spots for Moore, including projections from Todd McShay, FanSided and our latest NFL Mocks projection.<\/p>\n

Browns, Jets or Falcons: Which situation would give Moore the best chance to succeed?<\/p>\n

Todd McShay sends Dante Moore to the Browns<\/p>\n

NFL Draft and college football analyst Todd McShay dropped his first full first-round mock draft<\/a> last week, and he has Moore as the second quarterback off the board, going to the Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n

The Browns are coming off a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers behind Deshaun Watson, but don’t let that fool you. Cleveland could still be in the hunt for one of the top quarterback talents in the 2027 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

With the Browns drafting as high as No. 2 in McShay’s projection, he believes Moore is the guy.<\/p>\n

McShay writes:<\/p>\n

\u201cDo the Browns finally\u2014and I mean finally\u2014get their guy? Moore is a natural pocket passer with outstanding anticipation, touch, and accuracy. He consistently throws receivers open and delivers a catchable ball that allows them to transition upfield immediately.<\/p>\n

He still needs to show more composure when pressure arrives directly in his face, and I\u2019d like to see him deliver in some big moments, but Moore has maturity beyond his years, and his passing foundation gives him high-level NFL starter potential.\u201d<\/p>\n

It’s the maturity for me.<\/p>\n

A team with the young talent the Browns have does need a quarterback of Moore’s caliber as far as talent. But furthermore, they need a quarterback with Moore’s poise.<\/p>\n

While Shedeur Sanders has had his moments, and will probably have more opportunities under center in 2026, Cleveland turning back to Watson raises questions about whether the Browns view Sanders as their long-term answer.<\/p>\n

If they don’t, the hope is that a quarterback like Moore falls right into their lap.<\/p>\n

Another team hoping for that opportunity could’ve drafted Moore if he had declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

FanSided gives the Jets another shot at Dante Moore<\/p>\n

Wouldn’t it be poetic if Moore ended up with the Jets after all?<\/p>\n

Whether Moore’s decision to return to Oregon had anything to do with the possibility of being selected by the Jets remains speculation, but wouldn’t it be something if he ended up in New York anyway?<\/p>\n

According to Cody Williams in his first full first-round NFL Mock Draft<\/a>, that’s exactly what could happen.<\/p>\n

Our mothership also has Moore as the second quarterback off the board, with the Oregon star landing with the Jets at No. 3.<\/p>\n

Williams writes:<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026Dante Moore might be regretting the decision to return to Oregon. I’m not ready to start causing a freefall in the 2027 draft for him, but both the quarterback and his Ducks have not looked good to start the season. The 2025 tape still exists, though, and this looks like a pro-caliber arm with solid decision-making and real upside to be a franchise passer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jets are 1-1 to start the season, and the offense looks serviceable with Geno Smith behind center. No knock on the veteran quarterback, but Moore at the top of his game offers more upside with his arm.<\/p>\n

That’s what makes this projection interesting. New York wouldn’t necessarily be drafting Moore to rescue an offense with nothing around him. With talent already in place, the Jets could instead be looking for the quarterback capable of taking the offense to another level.<\/p>\n

NFL Mocks gives the Falcons another option at quarterback<\/p>\n

We wouldn’t be NFL Mocks if we shied away from mock drafts this early.<\/p>\n

As with many of our way-too-early mock drafts<\/a>, we have Moore as the first quarterback off the board. Despite some early struggles, Moore has the ability and tools to establish himself as a top-level quarterback by the end of the college football season.<\/p>\n

He may even make believers out of the non-believers if he can step up and deliver under pressure and in the biggest games.<\/p>\n

In our latest full first-round mock draft based on the actual draft order, we have Moore going to the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 3 overall pick.<\/p>\n

At the time of publication, the Falcons were rolling with Cooper Rush at quarterback. With third-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. healthy and ready to take over under center, Atlanta may already have its answer at the position.<\/p>\n

But that solely depends on how Penix leads the offense, whether he can stay healthy and, ultimately, whether the Falcons believe he is their long-term answer.<\/p>\n

Like the Browns and Jets, the Falcons have offensive talent around the quarterback position. If Atlanta does find itself looking for another answer, Moore would bring the ability to lead receivers, deliver the football where it needs to be and potentially take advantage of the weapons already in place.<\/p>\n

Of course, that’s only if the Falcons don’t already have their answer in Penix.<\/p>\n

Which Dante Moore landing spot makes the most sense?<\/p>\n

Whether it’s the Browns, Jets or Falcons, there is one common theme with all three projections: Moore would be going to a team that already has some offensive pieces around him.<\/p>\n

That’s important.<\/p>\n

Moore has the arm talent, pocket presence and maturity draft analysts love, but where he lands could be just as important as how high he is selected. For a young quarterback with his skill set, coaching, protection and patience will matter.<\/p>\n

Cleveland is intriguing because of the young talent already on the roster. Atlanta has weapons and could become an interesting option depending on what happens with Penix.<\/p>\n

But New York might be the most fascinating of the three.<\/p>\n

The Jets could give Moore an opportunity to step into an offense with talent around him without immediately asking him to carry the entire franchise. If the coaching situation is right and New York gives him time to develop, the pairing could make plenty of sense.<\/p>\n

And after Moore passed on the 2026 NFL Draft?<\/p>\n

Jets fans would probably have just one question: Why couldn’t this have happened a year earlier?<\/p>\n
