The Los Angeles Rams<\/a> suffered from regrettable late-game execution in their baffling 30-26 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.<\/p>\n

Rams head coach Sean McVay also regrets how he executed his postgame press conference.<\/p>\n

McVay followed a dejected Matthew Stafford at the podium and, according to the Rams\u2019 official YouTube stream<\/a>, took questions for less than two minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cSean McVay ducked out of his press conference before Rams media could get into it, only 10 minutes after the final whistle,\u201d Nate Atkins of The Athletic<\/a> relayed Sunday night. \u201cNot sure I have ever seen that in this league before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here was the start of the Rams\u2019 live stream from their YouTube account.<\/p>\n

McVay answered the first question from the beat (@sarahbarshop<\/a>) before walking off.<\/p>\n

Artis Twyman, the Rams\u2019 VP of Communications, disputed\u00a0Atkins\u2019s characterization<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgain Nathan, I will not let you get on here and not represent the truth,\u201d Twyman wrote<\/a> in response to Atkins\u2019s X posts. \u201c[In] the press box, they announce that media that want to attend the post game news conference, leave at the five-minute mark. You chose to stay until the end of the game, which made you late.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach was already in there waiting on you, and then he left as you were arriving,\u201d Twyman wrote<\/a> in a separate post. \u201cPlease, take some responsibility in the matter. How long should he have waited for you, sir?\u201d<\/p>\n

Atkins responded that \u201ctwo minutes, five minutes, any could\u2019ve worked<\/a>,\u201d and pushed back on Twyman blaming the media:<\/p>\n

That\u2019s literally every game ever covered, Artis. We do this process every week. If it were supposed to be any different, I\u2019d have seen this happen at least once before across four different NFL beats.<\/p>\n

After all of that, McVay took full accountability to open his media availability on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cSorry that I missed you guys yesterday,\u201d McVay said<\/a>, according Atkins. \u201cThere was a misunderstanding with some of the timing. [\u2026] I understand my role and responsibility is to talk, whether it\u2019s after a win or if we don\u2019t get the result we want.\u201d<\/p>\n

McVay, traditionally a media darling<\/a>, knows better than to add petty beef to his increasingly full plate. The Rams, the overwhelming preseason Super Bowl favorites, are off to a disappointing 1-2 start. It won\u2019t get any easier, either.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles has a date with the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 4\u2014the Eagles have owned the McVay-led Rams\u2014followed by a clash with the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football\u00a0on Oct. 12.<\/p>\n
