The Tennessee Titans have dedicated their offseason to building around new quarterback Cam Ward. Even before the franchise officially selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the team was adding veteran pass-catchers to ease his transition.<\/p>\n

Both Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson were signed by the Titans ahead of the draft, but the team also snagged two wideouts and a tight end in the fourth round. Rookies Chimere Dike, Elic Ayomanor and Gunnar Helm are all expected to have a learning curve but also be strong contributors in 2025.<\/p>\n

Veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley and tight end Chig Okonkwo are the only two key receiving assets from last year’s team that are back in the fold this year.<\/p>\n

As so, rookie quarterback Cam Ward spoke to the media<\/a> on Tuesday after Titans OTAs about his relationship with Ridley, and where he feels the two stand at this point in the offseason.<\/p>\n

“It’s been good with (Ridley), especially a vet who’s had a decent amount of stops who’s produced at every stop,” Ward said. “For him to hear my feedback on what I what and I gotta hear his, cause at the end of the day, if I’m not clicking, he not clicking, we’re the two main pieces. So we just gotta listen to each other and continue to build that chemistry.”<\/p>\n

Ridley has played six seasons in the NFL, the most productive of which was in 2020 as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. He still had a solid campaign for the Titans in 2024, catching 64 passes for 1,017 yards and four touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Ward is coming off a 4,313-yard, 39-touchdown campaign during his senior season at Miami, so he should be a massive upgrade over incumbent Will Levis. This can only mean positive things for Ridley and the rest of the Titans’ offense.<\/p>\n
