After opening the season with three straight wins, the Las Vegas Raiders are looking to get back on track following consecutive losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots.

But the challenge won’t get any easier this Sunday, as the Raiders prepare to host a 4-1 Buffalo Bills team coming off a 37-34 overtime victory against the Los Angeles Rams.

For veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, the focus is on making sure two losses don’t turn into a longer losing streak.

Speaking with News 3 on Wednesday, Cousins emphasized the importance of getting back to work, staying the course and finding a balance between learning from a loss and moving forward.

The Raiders will need that mindset against one of the NFL’s most productive offenses.

Led by quarterback Josh Allen and running back James Cook, Buffalo rushed for 234 yards against the Rams, presenting another significant challenge for a Las Vegas defense that has struggled to contain opposing rushing attacks.

However, one area where the Raiders have continued to find success is creating turnovers.

Las Vegas has recorded 10 takeaways through five games, tied for second in the NFL. That ability could prove critical against a Buffalo offense that has shown vulnerabilities with ball security despite its explosive production.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby emphasized the importance of capitalizing on those opportunities as the Raiders look to regain their defensive identity.

On the other side of the football, establishing the run remains a priority.

Head coach Klint Kubiak has acknowledged the team’s struggles on the ground and taken responsibility for moving away from the rushing attack too early in recent games.

With rookie running back Ashton Jeanty in the backfield, the Raiders are continuing to search for greater consistency up front and a more balanced offensive approach.

The offensive line knows it will play a major role in turning those adjustments into production on the field.

For Las Vegas, Sunday’s matchup presents an opportunity to prove the lessons learned from two consecutive losses are translating into improvements.
