The Chiefs could be down both Josh Simmons and Jaylon Moore in Week 7 vs. the Seahawks. Andy Reid doesn’t seem too concerned about it as preparation for Seattle gets underway.

The Kansas City Chiefs have already turned the page to the Seattle Seahawks and Week 7’s matchup on “Sunday Night Football.” As preparations begin, the latest injury update on left tackle Josh Simmons and right tackle Jaylon Moore raises real concerns about the offensive line.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said there were no new injuries beyond his postgame report.

“As far as the injuries go, I would tell you that there’s not a lot different than what I mentioned to you (yesterday afternoon),” Reid said.

The most notable name from that report was starting right tackle Jaylon Moore, who suffered a concussion in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Josh Simmons’ status for Week 7 remains uncertain

Leading into Week 6, the Chiefs had starting left tackle Josh Simmons back at practice in a limited capacity for all three sessions. Before last week, Simmons hadn’t practiced since Aug. 16.

Asked about his potential status for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, Reid was hesitant to overpromise. The team will continue to ramp up Simmons’ workload and see how he responds as he returns from injury.

“Josh (Simmons) is still probably going to be ramping up as we go,” Reid said. “Rashee (Rice), we’ll have to see. I haven’t seen Rashee today, but he’s been here every day, and he’ll be coming in here in a minute. So, we’ll see where he’s at.”

Kansas City is also monitoring WR Rashee Rice, who likely has a better chance of playing than Simmons even though he didn’t practice all last week. However, Reid was hesitant to commit to that as well. He knows that hamstring injuries can be fickle.

Reid still has to see how the practice week transpires. Both Simmons and Rice could play, both could sit, or one could suit up while the other sits. It all comes down to how practice goes and how each player feels returning from his injury.

What the Chiefs’ offensive line could look like without Moore and Simmons

The Chiefs could realistically be without two of their most experienced offensive tackles, Moore and Simmons. That would leave Kahlil Benson as the starting left tackle and Joshua Ezeudu as the starting right tackle. Diego Pounds would also be active for the first time since Kansas City acquired him in a trade, should Moore be out with his concussion.

Reid discussed Ezeudu’s Week 6 performance on Monday. The trade acquisition filled in for Moore after the concussion just before halftime against the Chargers.

“I appreciated the guys and how they played yesterday,” Reid said “Josh (Ezeudu) jumped in and played at the right tackle spot. I thought he did a nice job there. So, and he’s got experience. I’m not real worried about all that.”

In 17 pass-blocking snaps on Sunday, Ezeudu allowed just one hurry per Pro Football Focus. The Chiefs put him in a good spot to be successful in that game. With a full week of practice and preparation as a potential starter, Ezeudu could deliver an even better performance against Seattle.

Moore could realistically practice and play this week. It’s not out of the question. It’s happened before. However, concussions typically mean that you’re slated to miss at least one week of the season. An independent neurologist must clear him before he can return to play.

Seahawks’ pass rush presents a tough test on the road

The matchup won’t exactly favor Kansas City. The reigning Super Bowl champions are among the league’s most productive teams at sacking the quarterback.

Seattle trails only the Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions in sacks during the 2026 NFL season. That’s a pass rush that can exploit any weakness up front, especially if a backup or two man the edges.

The Chiefs’ offensive line will need to be at its best in Seattle, but right now it doesn’t look like it will be. Instead, Kansas City will need some of its young players to step up and deliver strong performances on the road in prime time. They’ve delivered before, but this could be their biggest test yet.

How Simmons and Moore handle their workloads this week will go a long way toward determining just how much is on those young shoulders come Sunday night.
