Owens has been tuning in to the 49ers\u2019 undefeated start to the season, but wasn\u2019t impressed with Mike Evans\u2019 most recent performance against the Commanders on Monday Night Football. The 33-year-old was playing a rib and Achilles injury entering the matchup. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe were watching the game. Mike was playing, Mike Evans, and I was like, \u2018Look at his routes.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018I can do that. It\u2019s not like he\u2019s blazing speed,\u2019\u201d Owens said<\/a> on his podcast. <\/p>\n \u201c[Evans] just knows how to run routes, knows where to go, and then the quarterback can save you,\u201d he continued. \u201cLike, he was just catching some really average plays.\u201d<\/p>\n 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir didn\u2019t take kindly to the seemingly negative comments regarding Evans, San Francisco\u2019s top receiver in 2026. <\/p>\n \u201cMannnn noo you cant. The 49ers have yet to lose a game in 2026, and much of the offense\u2019s success can be attributed to the electric pairing of quarterback Brock Purdy and Evans.<\/p>\n
