I think those are conversations that continue to take place and we got to see how it goes here. We got to see once we get our own guys out on the field and see how that goes and just check in and see. <\/p>\n \u201cThose two guys are still free agents, so they may have opportunities, too. I certainly keep those lines of communication open and we\u2019ll continue to do that here. If there\u2019s a fit for adding to our roster, we won\u2019t hesitate to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n How realistic are potential Cardinals reunions with Will Hernandez and Kyzir White?<\/p>\n Based on how Arizona\u2019s roster is currently constructed, Hernandez appears to have the better chance at re-signing with the Cardinals than White.<\/p>\n While Ossenfort added guard Hayden Conner in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, there is still a big question mark as to what the guard spot opposite Evan Brown will look like come the regular season.<\/p>\n As of Tuesday, Arizona\u2019s leading candidate at right guard is second-year pro Isaiah Adams, who was the team\u2019s starting option across the final five games of the season.<\/p>\n He didn\u2019t miss an offensive snap during that stretch.<\/p>\n Behind him sits Jon Gaines II. The young lineman can play all three spots along the interior and has been talked up by fellow players and coaches, though hasn\u2019t got many reps due to injury and his spot on the depth chart the past two seasons.<\/p>\n The rookie Conner, who marked the lone offensive player taken by the Cardinals this past draft, also figures to be in the mix.<\/p>\n But throw Hernandez back in Arizona\u2019s OL room, and that need\/question mark suddenly dissipates.<\/p>\n That being said, where exactly is Hernandez in his recovery from a torn ACL suffered last October?<\/p>\n As much as the veteran would provide a boost along the interior, he\u2019s got to be healthy first.<\/p>\n If Hernandez is, a reunion seems more likely than not.<\/p>\n Moving over to White, a re-signing looks bleaker by the day.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no doubt White impacted Arizona\u2019s defense with his violence and leadership.<\/p>\n After all, your defensive coordinator doesn\u2019t name his kid<\/a> after you just to say he did.<\/p>\n But with how much the Cardinals have added to the inside linebackers room, is there even a spot available for the two-time team captain?<\/p>\n Currently, the answer is no.<\/p>\n Not only did Arizona bring in veteran linebackers Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker, it also doubled down with the addition of rookie Cody Simon in the fourth round<\/a> of the draft.<\/p>\n And from the sounds of it, Simon could very well be the team\u2019s starting MIKE backer of the future.<\/p>\n \u201cHe earned the green dot for their defense, so he\u2019s making the calls, lining up the defense. He was a captain for them. \u2026 In all our dealings with Cody and all of our meetings, that\u2019s definitely shown through,\u201d Ossenfort said. <\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s so important at the inside linebacker position where communication and the mental aspect of the game is so vital to that role. It\u2019s really the quarterback of the defense. We think Cody brings a lot of those intangibles, plus just having the physical attributes to do the job.\u201d<\/p>\n
