During his rookie season, Rams<\/a> edge rusher Jared Verse<\/a> established himself as one of the NFL\u2019s most boisterous players \u2014 and also a force to be reckoned with ala former Rams star Aaron Donald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So it should be no surprise that Verse, the NFL defensive rookie of the year<\/a>, unabashedly if not kiddingly sounded Wednesday as if he was challenging Donald, a future Hall of Famer<\/a> and legendary training maven, to a workout duel.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the \u201cAdam Schefter Podcast,\u201d Verse was asked if he could work out with Donald during the offseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, he don\u2019t want that,\u201d Verse said. \u201cHe\u2019s not ready for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Verse did not stop.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat little 500 bench he had. He\u2019s not ready for that,\u201d Verse said. \u201cHey, I\u2019ll be moving weight. I\u2019ll be moving weight.\u201d<\/p>\n

So Donald can\u2019t keep up with you right now? Schefter asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, whenever he\u2019s ready for a workout,\u201d Verse said. \u201cMan, I\u2019ll be seeing his little Instagram posts, the benches, the dumbbell benches. Hey, he can get me whenever he\u2019s ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donald playfully responded in a video<\/a> on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomebody put the word out,\u201d Donald said. \u201cI\u2019m looking for you, Verse. I\u2019m looking for you. Come to the house. I just want to talk. I just want to talk, that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing much, big dog. That\u2019s it. Just a little conversation. Put in a little weights. Do a little cardio. You know, the old-man retirement workout. Let\u2019s put you through it. See what you can do. I just want to talk. Come on, I just want to talk.\u201d<\/p>\n
