NFL reporter Aaron Wilson has reported<\/a> that the Green Bay Packers<\/a> have hired Dan Zegers, whose most recent job was as the Cleveland Browns<\/a>\u2019 Midwest area scout from 2020 through the 2025 draft. According to the Packers\u2019 front office directory, Joe Hueber, who took over the Midwest region in 2024, is still on the roster, so it\u2019s unclear what Zegers\u2019 role will be with the team at the moment.<\/p>\n

Per Zegers\u2019 LinkedIn page<\/a>, Zegers got his start at the NFL level with the Packers, where he served as an equipment assistant and scouting assistant during his time at De Pere High School, about seven miles from Lambeau Field, and St. Norbert College, about five miles from Lambeau Field. From 1957 to 2020, the Packers held their training camp at St. Norbert before moving camp back to their in-house facilities.<\/p>\n

After a decade in Green Bay, Zegers took a job with the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> as their player personnel assistant from 2013 to 2017, leading to a promotion as the team\u2019s college scouting coordinator. In 2018, he left for the Browns, where he took the title of personnel coordinator until he moved to an area scout role in the summer of 2020.<\/p>\n

Players that the Browns drafted from Zegers\u2019 region include cornerback Greg Newsome II, Pro Bowl<\/a> linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and most recently their fifth overall draft choice in Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham.<\/p>\n
