A trade for Ramsey likely won’t cost more than a late-round pick or two<\/p>\n
No team has been linked to Jalen Ramsey more than the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> this offseason. They\u2019ve spoken publicly about their interest in trading for the Miami Dolphins<\/a> cornerback, though Sean McVay said recently that there hasn\u2019t been \u201cany meaningful, tangible dialogue<\/a>\u201d on that front.<\/p>\n It doesn\u2019t sound like teams are aggressively pursuing Ramsey due to his sizable contract but he\u2019s still expected to be traded in the \u201ccoming days and weeks,\u201d according to ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler<\/a>.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, ESPN\u2019s panel of NFL analysts<\/a> pitched trade proposals for players who could be dealt, including Ramsey. Fowler and Dan Graziano both laid out offers the Rams could make for Ramsey and the cost is minimal from a compensation standpoint.<\/p>\n Fowler\u2019s offer was as follows: 2026 fifth-round pick, 2026 sixth-round pick, cash considerations. In this proposal, the Rams would cover \u201cat least $12 million\u201d of Ramsey\u2019s $20.2 million in guaranteed money.<\/p>\n Graziano\u2019s was similar, proposing that the Rams only give up a 2026 seventh-round pick. Here\u2019s what Graziano wrote about his proposal for the Rams.<\/p>\n My feeling is Ramsey gets released rather than traded, but either way, I’d argue the Dolphins aren’t going to get a ton for him. The Rams know and like Ramsey. He likes it in Los Angeles, too. So with this offer, it makes sense for the Rams to flip the pick they got from Baltimore in the\u00a0Tre’Davious White<\/a>\u00a0deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n Obviously, Graziano\u2019s offer would be the better deal for the Rams, only giving up a seventh-round pick next year without having to cover any additional money on Ramsey\u2019s contract. Other proposals from ESPN\u2019s experts included the Panthers giving up a fourth-rounder, and the Chargers<\/a> and Dolphins swapping late-round picks in 2027.<\/p>\n All told, the cost doesn\u2019t seem to be very high in any potential deal for Ramsey.
