This week, the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> were due to visit President Trump<\/a> in the White House to celebrate their victory<\/a> at this year\u2019s Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Jalen Hurts quickly went viral<\/a> after it was revealed that he\u2019d be skipping the visit; he initially had an awkward response<\/a> when asked about the visit at an event \u2014 and days later, a spokesperson claimed that the athlete wouldn\u2019t be at the White House due to \u201cscheduling conflicts.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

But it turns out that it wasn\u2019t just Jalen who didn\u2019t attend, with NBC<\/a> now releasing a full list of the Eagles players who opted not to go. Per the BBC<\/a>, the White House invitation \u201cwas optional for players to attend.\u201d<\/p>\n

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Brandon Graham, Nolan Smith, Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean, C.J. Gardner Johnson, and Darius Slay Jr. were among the names of athletes who were not at the ceremony, the outlet reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reacting to this online, several fans applauded<\/a> the athletes who skipped visiting Trump. \u201cYou dropped your crown, kings,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cHuge props to them for standing up for themselves and their beliefs! Go Eagles!\u201d said another.<\/p>\n

\u201cMen with real values and real integrity who won’t allow a white supremacist president to use them for attention and a photo opp,\u201d one user said, while another person posted a GIF of Jennifer Lopez standing up and applauding.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, many fans couldn\u2019t help but point out that the majority of players who reportedly skipped the visit were Black. \u201cNot a single white player. Makes sense,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cSo not one white teammate stayed back?\u201d someone questioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cDisappointing that none of their white teammates could stand on business in solidarity, but proud of them for taking a stand regardless,\u201d one fan said, while another<\/a> shared their disappointment that athlete Saquon Barkley \u2014 who is Black \u2014 did attend.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, this comes just as Saquon \u2014 who was seen at Trump\u2019s golf club<\/a> in Bedminster, New Jersey over the weekend \u2014 defended their relationship against criticism. He wrote on X, \u201clol some people are really upset cause I played golf and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,\u201d he wrote. \u201cMaybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago\u2026and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have an amazing day.\u201d<\/p>\n
