The NFL news that has been awaited throughout the offseason has finally broken: Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is joining the Pittsburgh Steelers. <\/p>\n
NFL Network<\/a> and ESPN reported<\/a> on Thursday that Rodgers is signing a one-year contract with Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n Rodgers has been a free agent since being released by the New York Jets on March 12, and he\u2019s been linked to the Steelers practically ever since. <\/p>\n Russell Wilson started 11 games and Justin Fields started six games at quarterback for Pittsburgh in 2024. But the Steelers let both leave in free agency, with Wilson signing with the New York Giants and Fields joining the Jets.<\/p>\n Pittsburgh has only three practices remaining in its offseason program. The Steelers will hold mandatory minicamp on June 10-12. Pittsburgh has scheduled the first practice of training camp for July 24.<\/p>\n The 41-year-old Rodgers has played in 20 NFL seasons. A 10-time Pro Bowler and a four-time first-team All-Pro, Rodgers won four AP NFL Most Valuable Player Awards during his 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and paced the team to the NFL championship for the 2010 season.<\/p>\n After playing in only one game for the Jets in 2023, Rodgers started every game for New York in 2024. But the team posted a 5-12 record.
