There\u2019s been a change on the visit schedule for Las Vegas Bishop Gorman<\/a> five-star safety Jett Washington<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Originally, the 6-foot-4.5, 200-pound star had set an official visit to Ohio State<\/a> this weekend. He\u2019s now instead heading to Eugene for an OV with Oregon<\/a>, On3\u2019s Chad Simmons reports. Washington is currently at USC<\/a> on an unofficial visit and will head to Oregon tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Washington\u2019s trip to Eugene was previously scheduled for next weekend. He\u2019s now moving that up a week and is unsure if an OV to Ohio State will follow, according to Simmons. Dan Lanning<\/a> and the Ducks had Washington on campus this spring and that trip helped the Big Ten program in his recruitment.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy last visit to Oregon was great,\u201d Washington told Simmons. \u201cIt is a great program and they are recruiting me as hard as anyone. Coach Hampton is a great coach, coach Lanning has the program going up and I liked it a lot when I was up there.\u201d<\/p>\n

He now joins a loaded official visitor list that\u2019s set to include fellow five-stars in cornerback Brandon Arrington<\/a>, linebacker Tyler Atkinson<\/a> and EDGE Richard Wesley<\/a>. Other top blue-chippers will be on campus, too<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Washington was in Tuscaloosa for an official visit with Alabama<\/a>. The Crimson Tide made a big splash<\/a> and are contending for the Sin City standout.<\/p>\n

\u201cRelationships are very important, then seeing where I fit in their defense, what their plan for me is and the culture at each school are the biggest things for me,\u201d Washington told On3 about what he\u2019s looking for in his home at the next level<\/a>. \u201cI want to play in a winning culture. The NIL is part of it too. You have to take it for what it is now, it is part of the process and I am looking at that too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Washington is the No. 27 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the 2026 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He\u2019s also the top-ranked player in Nevada.<\/p>\n

Oregon currently has the No. 9 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings<\/a>. Seven commits are in the fold for Lanning and Co., headlined by Reidsville (N.C.) five-star tight end Kendre Harrison<\/a>, the No. 20 recruit and No. 2 TE in the cycle. Melbourne (Fla.)
