Like Peyton Manning before him, Bo Nix has fully bought into the city of Denver.<\/p>\n
Now entering his second year with the Denver Broncos<\/a> and his first offseason as the unquestioned starting quarterback, Nix went on a sports tour this spring, visiting the Denver Nuggets<\/a> and Colorado Avalanche<\/a> before later throwing out a first pitch for the Colorado Rockies<\/a>.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Speaking at the NFL’s annual league meetings in March, Broncos<\/a> owner Greg Penner was asked about the team’s quarterback embracing the city of Denver.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d say the first and most important thing is he\u2019s totally focused on football,” Penner said. “It\u2019s been great. He\u2019s been in the facility this offseason, getting in his workouts and treatment with the other players and building those relationships. At the same time, it was fun to see him at the Nuggets game and an Avalanche game in the same weekend.<\/p>\n “I think that\u2019s great for him, just for the fans to see him out and about in the community and [he is] starting to get involved in some community efforts. I know he did some hospital visits, and he\u2019s going to be hosting a youth camp. Again, he\u2019s totally focused on football and understands there\u2019s some other things that go with it. He\u2019s a worker and going to continue to improve.”<\/p>\n Nix, 25, is now the face of the franchise. He has not yet reached Manning levels of adoration in the city, but Denver is falling in love with the young quarterback. Up next for Nix is the team’s quest to win the AFC West and return to the playoffs in 2025. The city will be behind them.<\/p>\n
