The Ravens\u2019 secondary coach is happy to stay with the flock.<\/p>\n
Chuck Pagano, 64, said Thursday he does not want to be a head coach in the NFL again.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, sir,\u201d he told reporters. \u201cNobody has any idea until you sit in that seat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pagano recently ended his four-year retirement from coaching to reunite with head coach John Harbaugh and the Ravens.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He comes back to a role he is already familiar with, as he held that same position back in 2008 when he was first hired.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cSome of my fondest memories and coaching moments were the first time I was here,\u201d Pagano said. \u201c[As a head coach], you get pulled away from what you love doing, and that\u2019s coaching the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
After serving as the secondary coach from 2008-10, Pagano was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2011. <\/p>\n
That year, the Ravens\u2019 defense was ironclad, allowing only 16.8 points per game, which was third best in the league.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But in 2012, it was time for Pagano to bolt after being selected as the Colts\u2019 head coach.<\/p>\n
He stayed in that role until 2017, when he was fired following a 4-12 season.<\/p>\n
During his time in Indianapolis, he guided the Colts to three consecutive playoff appearances with young quarterback Andrew Luck.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But those days are behind Pagano. <\/p>\n

Now, he has a very talented secondary to guide this season with the Ravens.<\/p>\n
They have veteran cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Chidobe Awuzie, as well as young talent with Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks and Nate Wiggins.<\/p>\n
Though the talent is there, the secondary group struggled mightily last season. <\/p>\n
