The OTA phase of the NFL\u2019s offseason training calendar is officially voluntary for players. But over the course of the past two weeks, every single player on the Seahawks\u2019 90-man roster was in attendance for at least one of the team\u2019s six OTA practices, according to ESPN\u2019s Brady Henderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n Most players were on hand for all of the practices, including a handful who either sat out or were limited due to injuries.<\/p>\n During Friday\u2019s edition of Seattle Sports\u2019 Bump and Stacy, former NFL wide receiver Michael Bumpus<\/a> was asked whether the Seahawks\u2019 100 percent attendance rate really matters at this stage of the offseason.<\/p>\n \u201cIt does, and it doesn\u2019t,\u201d Bumpus said. \u201cYou want you want your team to be together. You want these guys to grow together. You want that continuity. You want them to get into the playbook. You want to get relationship with the coaches.<\/p>\n \u201cBut there are some (veterans) who don\u2019t need these OTAs. So if a few players weren\u2019t there, I wouldn\u2019t be tripping. But it does say that guys are eager to learn this new offense and just to be around the squad.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n After Thursday\u2019s practice, linebacker Ernest Jones IV was asked about the perfect OTA attendance. He said it\u2019s reflective of the team\u2019s overall buy-in.<\/p>\n \u201cI think for this team, we\u2019re bought into the goal and the mission \u2013 and the goal is to put another (Super Bowl) banner up in here,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI think everyone believes in that, and we\u2019re going to show up to work and do what we have to do to make sure we get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n Listen to the full Bump and Stacy conversation at this link<\/a> or in the audio player near the bottom of this story.
