We have heard all offseason long of the question marks surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line and how the unit would protect Patrick Mahomes better than it did a year ago.<\/p>\n

Why? Because Wanya Morris and Kingsley Suamataia both failed to nail down the starting left tackle role. As such, Jaylon Moore was signed in free agency, and the franchise doubled down on the position in the draft, selecting Josh Simmons<\/a> in the first round.<\/p>\n

So, where does that leave Morris and Suamataia? Morris is further down the depth chart, but Suamataia is tipped to slot into Joe Thuney’s left guard spot after he was traded to the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

And for CBS Sports, the publication is picking Suamataia to make a surprising impact in 2025 after an up-and-down rookie season.<\/p>\n

“All isn’t lost for Suamataia, however, as he is now being looked at as the in-house replacement at left guard after the team traded away Joe Thuney,”\u00a0CBS Sports writes<\/a>. “If Suamataia can make this transition, it’ll only further help the Chiefs’ offensive line problems that were utterly apparent in their Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia.”<\/p>\n

Kingsley’s move inside almost has to work because otherwise it is Mike Caliendo who will slot in, and he, like Suamataia, failed to take his chances last season.<\/p>\n

Mahomes, including the playoffs, was sacked a career-high 47 times, and, of course, we know about the Super Bowl massacre against the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

Some are jumping off the Chiefs bandwagon simply due to the question marks surrounding the offensive line, and those won’t be answered until the regular season begins.<\/p>\n

If Suamataia can make an impact, or simply break even at left guard and do his share of the heavy lifting, and the Chiefs’ offensive line can give Mahomes ample time with the football, then this revenge tour in 2025 might have a happy ending.<\/p>\n
