NFL.com\u2019s Brooke Cersosimo<\/a>\u2018s advice to trade for Baltimore Ravens\u2019 All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews. <\/p>\n\u201cThere has been some\u00a0speculation\u00a0this offseason about the Ravens moving their longtime tight end. He\u2019s been a very reliable player (minus\u00a0that\u00a0drop\u00a0in the Divisional Round loss), but\u00a0this is a business\u00a0after all. Andrews is a free agent in 2026, and with Baltimore needing to allocate money elsewhere (SEE:\u00a0renegotiating Lamar Jackson\u2019s contract), the team could save $11 million against the cap and gain future draft capital by trading him. In come the Jets, who are in the middle of a rebuild and need more pieces to help\u00a0Justin Fields\u00a0jump-start the offense. New York did draft\u00a0Mason Taylor\u00a0in the second round, but bringing in Andrews for a year to aid this unit and mentor the rookie makes sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Taylor is in line to be the Jets\u2019 long-term starting tight end, he may not be ready to contribute at a high level right away. Thus, adding a highly capable vet like the Ravens\u2019 three-time Pro Bowler could make a lot of sense. <\/p>\n
Plus, in addition to Andrews providing immediate contribution, he\u2019d be able to show the Jets\u2019 rookie tight end a few of the finer aspects of being an NFL pro. Considering Andrews brings seven years of experience with him, he could be a very valuable addition to the Jets\u2019 new-look offense this season. <\/p>\n
