It’s no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers need to add a pass catcher or two.<\/p>\n

Since the George Pickens trade that sent him to Dallas left a hole in the receivers room, the Steelers have been linked to a number of players.<\/p>\n

That includes free agent Gabe Davis, who visited the facility on Thursday but left without a contract as he continues to recover from a meniscus tear that ended his season prematurely in 2024 in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts is another name that has come up in various rumors for the past couple of months, and it appears that it’s turned in to more than a rumor.<\/p>\n

Ian Rapoport reported that Pittsburgh finally made the call to Atlanta to inquire about Pitts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve had their eyes on tight ends, too,\u201d Rapaport said. \u201cKyle Pitts, there was a phone call there. The Steelers are in the market for at least one more playmaker.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> did not have a 1,000-yard receiver in 2024. George Pickens came the closest with 900 yards on 59 catches, and now, he’s gone.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh traded for former Seattle Seahawks<\/a> star wideout D.K. Metcalf this offseason to help with the passing offense in 2025.<\/p>\n

Pro Football Network wrote in April about why Pitts could be traded.<\/p>\n

\u201cKyle Pitts could be an underrated trade asset,\u201d Pro Football Network wrote<\/a>. \u201cPitts is playing out the fifth-year option on his rookie deal after averaging a career-low 35.4 receiving yards per game. Atlanta already has an impending mega-contract extension looming for Drake London, and Pitts played under 40 snaps per game for the first time in his career with a new coaching staff.\u201d<\/p>\n
