General manager John Schneider has built a well-balanced squad, with no player scheduled to carry a salary number larger than $15 million in 2025. Having analyzed the financial situation, we’ve identified Seattle’s three-largest cap charges on defense heading into training camp.

Leonard Williams, DT

Leonard Williams arguably enjoyed a career-best season for the Seahawks in 2024, recording 11.0 sacks. The Pro Bowler has Seattle’s largest cap charge heading into 2025 at a little over $15 million. Williams is signed through 2026, but his contract could require reworking next summer due to its bloated nature ($29.6 million cap hit).

Uchenna Nwosu, EDGE

The Seahawks could have released Uchenna Nwosu this offseason for financial gain, but ultimately decided to give the oft-injured pass rusher another chance. He has Seattle’s second-biggest cap charge on defense this season at $11.8 million. Nwosu is technically under contract through 2026, but it’s truly a make-or-break year for him.

Devon Witherspoon, CB

Devon Witherspoon’s cap number increases to $8.6 million in his third season. The former No. 5 overall selection will be eligible for a contract extension next summer, and the Seahawks will make a decision regarding his fifth-year option (it’s a near-guarantee to be picked up).

This article originally appeared on Seahawks Wire: 2025 Seahawks: 3 largest cap hits on defense

The Seattle Seahawks are currently equipped with $31.2 million in effective cap space, according to Over The Cap.…

[2081
6049,2865,7,2861,21543,6,9166,238,237,261,2635,14162
0":"post-111769","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-seattle-seahawks","8":"tag-cap-space","9":"tag-devon-witherspoon","10":"tag-football","11":"tag-john-schneider","12":"tag-leonard-williams","13":"tag-nfl","14":"tag-pro-bowler","15":"tag-seahawks","16":"tag-seattle","17":"tag-seattle-seahawks","18":"tag-seattleseahawks","19":"tag-uchenna-nwosu
["GET
