THE Kansas City Chiefs have a new offensive weapon lurking on their squad.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs<\/a> added Tyquan Thornton to their roster this offseason, and could turn him into a star.<\/p>\n

Thornton was an NFL Draft bust with the New England PatriotsCredit: Getty<\/p>\n

Thornton was nothing short of an NFL<\/a> Draft bust with the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n

He was drafted with the 50th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft<\/a> by the Patriots, but never found his footing with the team.<\/p>\n

In his rookie season, Thornton had 247 receiving yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n

However, in 2023 he had just 91 yards and last season he only brought in 47 yards.<\/p>\n

That lead to him being waived by the Patriots before the completion of his rookie contract.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs added him to their practice squad though, and activated him for training camp.<\/p>\n

He has been seen wearing the No. 2 in Chiefs camp and catching deep passes from Patrick Mahomes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a Chiefs offense that is desperate for a true WR2, Thornton could carve out a role for himself if he plays well in camp.<\/p>\n

Chiefs fans also have high hopes for Thornton, and have shared their thoughts on social media.<\/p>\n

“Thornton having a successful career in KC would be the funniest thing ever,” one fan said.<\/p>\n

“Our speed is INSANE!!!!” another fan said.<\/p>\n

“A Lot of speed now on offense. Hope it pays off,” a third fan said.<\/p>\n

“Let\u2019s sling it this year plz,” a fourth fan said.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s great, now let him do it in a game please,” a fifth fan said.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs are looking for revenge this season after their devastating Super Bowl<\/a> loss to the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year could also be the last year Travis Kelce<\/a> plays in the NFL.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs need to put their best foot forward and have a bounce-back offensive year.<\/p>\n
