The tension between wide receiver Terry McLaurin and the Washington Commanders over his contractual frustration continues to heat up as he seeks a new long-term contract with the team.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported<\/a> that the 29-year-old “Has made it clear to the team that he\u2019s frustrated with the lack of progress on a long-term deal.”<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Schultz previously reported that McLaurin left in the middle of OTAs after initially reporting to them. Whether or not he will be at the Commanders’ minicamp from June 10-12 remains unknown.<\/p>\n McLaurin is heading into the final year of his current contract after getting selected by Washington in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year rookie extension worth $68,364,000 in 2022.<\/p>\n The friction between him and the organization came after catching 82 passes for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns to clinch his second Pro Bowl nod this past season with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n After an impressive campaign, McLaurin witnessed his team acquire Deebo Samuel<\/a> and his $23.8 million salary in a trade<\/a> from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick.
