Pretty much everyone agrees that 2025 was a weak NFL Draft class at the quarterback position. However, the 2026 crop is looking extremely deep and talented. The 2026 NFL Draft top prospects list is dominated by QBs<\/a>, and one name to keep an extra eye on is Penn State’s Drew Allar.<\/p>\n

He might be the signal caller who’s the hardest to accurately project right now.<\/p>\n

You can easily find a 2026 NFL mock draft somewhere on the internet that projects Allar 1st overall.<\/a> And given that the number NFL mock drafts multiply like insects every spring, you shouldn’t have a problem finding plenty of mocks to chose from.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, you can also find plenty of mocks that slot Allar way down in the first round, into the mid or high twenties even.<\/a>\u00a0 Why such a wide variance on Allar? There is certainly no doubting Allar’s ability and talent. His size (6-5, 236) and arm strength are ideal for the league.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His stats are solid too- 53 TD passes against just 10 interceptions, 6,302 yards passing in two seasons as a starter. However, as expectations rise this football talking season, the perceptions around Allar could start mimicking those of his head coach, James Franklin.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both Franklin and Allar are working with an abundance of elite talent, at every position, in Happy Valley. And while they have led Penn State to a much higher level than where they’ve been the past few decades, they haven’t won the big one yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n
