Fourteen teams entered, and eight remain. The NFL playoffs<\/a> are on to the divisional round following a six-game wild card slate<\/a> with four teams in each conference still in the hunt for a spot in Super Bowl 59<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first round saw no surprises in the AFC as the higher seeds won each matchup. The Houston Texans<\/a> kicked off the wild card round with a dominant 32-12 win<\/a> over the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>. In a third installment of their divisional rivalry this season, the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> beat the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> 28-14<\/a>. The Buffalo Bills<\/a> took care of business 31-7<\/a> over the Denver Broncos<\/a> to wrap up the AFC wild-card round.<\/p>\n

The same can’t be said for the NFC. The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> started things off in the conference with a dominant 22-10 win<\/a> over the Green Bay Packers<\/a>. But their division foe Washington<\/a> went on the road against Tampa Bay<\/a> and earned a 23-20 upset win<\/a>. Though the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> were the higher seed, they were underdogs. However, they made a statement with a 27-9 win<\/a> over the Minnesota Vikings<\/a>, the first 14-win wild card team in NFL history.<\/p>\n

With that first step of the tournament in the rear view, here’s what to expect in the divisional round.<\/p>\n
