New York has a fine stable of running backs and a top-end receiver in Garrett Wilson, but things get murkier lower down the depth chart.

As a result, NFL Media Group’s Brooke Cerosimo revealed a “dream trade” she wants to see completed before the season starts, which would have the Jets acquire star tight end Mark Andrews from the Baltimore Ravens.

“There has been some speculation this offseason about the Ravens moving their longtime tight end. He’s been a very reliable player (minus that drop in the Divisional Round loss), but this is a business after all. Andrews is a free agent in 2026, and with Baltimore needing to allocate money elsewhere (SEE: renegotiating Lamar Jackson’s contract), the team could save $11 million against the cap and gain future draft capital by trading him,” Cersosimo explained. “In come the Jets, who are in the middle of a rebuild and need more pieces to help Justin Fields jump-start the offense. New York did draft Mason Taylor in the second round, but bringing in Andrews for a year to aid this unit and mentor the rookie makes sense.”

Andrews’ future in Baltimore remains up in the air. The three-time Pro Bowler has been one of the best tight ends in the league during his career. In his seven NFL seasons, Andrews has hauled in 436 receptions for 5,530 yards and 51 touchdowns. Despite his great production, including a career-best 11 touchdowns last season, Ravens’ general manager Eric DeCosta was described as “noncommittal” when asked about Andrews’ future.

“I never know what’s going to happen,” DeCosta said at the Ravens’ predraft news conference via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “And I would never want to say this or that. But I can tell you this: Mark Andrews is a warrior. He’s played his butt off for us.”

The Jets did take a swing at tight end in the NFL Draft, taking Mason Taylor with the No. 42 overall selection. Aaron Glenn feels good about his current tight end room, but one injury could change everything. It also doesn’t hurt to have multiple capable tight ends, especially when Justin Fields is among the best quarterbacks when targeting tight ends.

“Statistically, Fields has been one of the most effective QBs in the league when targeting tight ends,” ESPN’s Rich Cimini wrote on social media.

“Fields has an 87.7 QBR when targeting tight ends over the last two seasons, per ESPN Research. Only Lamar Jackson (93.9) and Brock Purdy (92.4) have a higher QBR in that span (minimum: 20 games played),” Cimini revealed.

Related: Jets Duo Named New York’s ‘Biggest Loss’ In Odd Aaron Rodgers Spin

Related: Jets Duo Tipped To ‘Flourish’ In High-Profile Reunion

This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 9, 2025, where it first appeared.

New York Jets’ ‘Dream Trade’ Sends $56 Million Pro Bowler to New York originally appeared on Athlon Sports.…

[2051
117,2644,7,2310,226,493,895,759,280,1917,255,2321,2097,6,796,2850,3865
0":"post-116522","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york-jets","8":"tag-baltimore-ravens","9":"tag-brock-purdy","10":"tag-football","11":"tag-garrett-wilson","12":"tag-jets","13":"tag-justin-fields","14":"tag-lamar-jackson","15":"tag-mark-andrews","16":"tag-mason-taylor","17":"tag-new-york","18":"tag-new-york-jets","19":"tag-newyork","20":"tag-newyorkjets","21":"tag-nfl","22":"tag-the-jets","23":"tag-the-ravens","24":"tag-tight-end
["GET
