The Las Vegas Raiders have endured their share of failures in the NFL Draft over the last few decades.<\/p>\n

While bashing the team for the selections of JaMarcus Russell and Henry Ruggs III feels like low-hanging fruit, these two picks are just the beginning of the team’s struggles.<\/p>\n

2020 first-round pick Damon Arnette was an utter disaster for the Silver and Black, both on and off the field. He lasted just under two seasons with the franchise after posting a Pro Football Focus grade<\/a> of 32.9 in his second year.<\/p>\n

He only played in 13 total games for the Raiders and recorded just 29 tackles, three passes defended and zero interceptions (via Pro Football Reference<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Arnette has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence playing in the UFL this spring, however. He has starred for the Houston Roughnecks<\/a>, recording 18 tackles, five pass break-ups, 1.0 sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown.<\/p>\n

On Monday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson announced<\/a>\u00a0that Arnette landed a workout with the Houston Texans.<\/p>\n

The Texans already have two great young corners in 2024 First-Team All-Pro Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter, who had three interceptions and 10 pass break-ups last season.<\/p>\n

However, Houston chose to take a flyer on Arnette, who was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Arnette had five interceptions and 22 passes defended during his four-year career at Ohio State.<\/p>\n

When Arnette was picked by the Raiders, Jon Gruden was still the team’s head coach and Mike Mayock was the general manager. Just five years later, the team is on its fourth general manager and head coach since Arnette’s selection.<\/p>\n
