PROVO, Utah-\u00a0The NFL Draft has come and gone, which means that free agency can truly get underway as teams prep their squads for next season in hopes of competing for a Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for some, that also means getting cut and having to find a new home, and today, that includes former BYU quarterback Jaren Hall, who was waived by the Seattle Seahawks.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 29, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Jaren Hall In The NFL<\/p>\n After throwing for more than 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns in his senior year at BYU, Jaren Hall was drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, going 164th overall to the Minnesota Vikings.<\/p>\n He played in three games for the Vikings during his one regular season with the team. During his time on the field, he posted a 65% completion percentage, threw one interception, but was unable to toss any touchdowns.<\/p>\n In 2024, Hall went through the offseason and went through the preseason with Minnesota, where he threw four touchdowns, but his performance was not enough to earn him a spot on the Vikings\u2019 roster.<\/p>\n Just before the regular season started, Jaren was waived by the Vikings on August 29, 2024, but was quickly signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad a few days later.<\/p>\n He only spent one year in Seattle, and aside from being called up to the active roster in December<\/a>, not much happened for Hall with the Seahawks. He didn\u2019t see any game action and was released by the team earlier today along with three other teammates.<\/p>\n During last weekend\u2019s NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with the 92nd overall pick in the third round, likely taking Jaren Hall\u2019s spot in the QB room.<\/p>\n Luckily for Jaren, other spots on rosters are opening up around the NFL as other teams are doing the same thing as the Seahawks, and he could very well find himself on a new squad in the very near future.<\/p>\n About Jaren Hall<\/p>\n Before his time at BYU, Hall was a standout player at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah.<\/p>\n After high school, the signal-caller served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California.
