With a fresh, four-year, $115 million contract in his pocket, Cincinnati Bengals and former Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins has his eyes on two things: staying on the field and bringing a Lombardi Trophy to the Queen City.<\/p>\n

After a couple of seasons plagued by nagging injuries, the Clemson product is making a concerted effort to change his preparation and ensure his availability for a team with serious Super Bowl aspirations. Higgins, who has missed time with hamstring and quadriceps issues, is revamping his routine with a new emphasis on flexibility and pre-practice stretching.<\/p>\n

“The deal is done, and I couldn’t be more relieved,” Higgins told reporters. “Now it’s time to put in the work and do what they’re paying me to do, and that’s make plays and help this team win.”<\/p>\n

That’s music to the ears of Bengals fans and, more importantly, to quarterback Joe Burrow and fellow star receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Both were vocal in their support for keeping the talented wideout in Cincinnati, and for good reason. The numbers don’t lie: with Higgins on the field, the Bengals’ offense is one of the most explosive in the league. According to ESPN Research, Cincinnati’s Expected Points Added (EPA) per play would have ranked in the top four of the NFL with a healthy Higgins. Without him, they dropped to 21st.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-4 receiver has been a dynamic weapon since being drafted in 2020, twice topping the 1,000-yard mark and providing a potent 1-2 punch with Chase. His absence has been felt, and his return to full health is a critical component of the Bengals’ championship formula.<\/p>\n

“We all know what Tee brings to this offense,” said head coach Zac Taylor. “He’s a premier talent in this league, and we’re excited to have him locked in for the long term. A healthy Tee Higgins makes us a much better football team.”<\/p>\n

For Higgins, the contract negotiations are in the rearview mirror. The focus now is squarely on the future.<\/p>\n

“Last year was tough, dealing with the injuries and the contract stuff,” Higgins said. “But that’s all behind me. I’m here, I’m healthy, and I’m ready to help this team get over the hump. We have all the pieces to win a championship, and I’m ready to do my part.”<\/p>\n
