{"id":118194,"date":"2025-06-10T08:14:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T08:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/118194\/"},"modified":"2025-06-10T08:14:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T08:14:15","slug":"colts-announce-jim-irsays-daughters-will-assume-ownership-of-the-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/118194\/","title":{"rendered":"Colts announce Jim Irsay&#8217;s daughters will assume ownership of the team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>INDIANAPOLIS \u2014 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Colts<\/a> have announced officially what has long been expected.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/colts\/2025\/05\/29\/colts-ownership-carlie-irsay-gordon-kalen-jackson-jim-irsay-death\/83914077007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Carlie Irsay-Gordon<\/a>, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson have assumed leadership of the franchise in the wake of their father Jim\u2019s death late last month, taking over roles they\u2019ve long prepared to handle.\u00a0Irsay-Gordon, the oldest daughter of the late Jim Irsay, will serve as the team\u2019s principal owner, taking over her father\u2019s title as owner and CEO.\u00a0Foyt becomes owner and executive vice president, and Kalen Jackson becomes owner and chief brand officer, as well as president of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/indianapolis-colts\/338\" data-autotag=\"d3fda36a-3eb5-4700-8763-caba831c06ae\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a> Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing around Carlie and Kalen so much, the passion they have for this town, this city and the generosity, doing everything they can to help those players and this team be successful, is awesome,\u201d Colts head coach Shane Steichen said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\">Jim Irsay death: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/colts\/2025\/05\/29\/colts-ownership-carlie-irsay-gordon-kalen-jackson-jim-irsay-death\/83914077007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">1-on-1 talks, quizzes, headsets: How Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Kalen Jackson have prepared to run Colts<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Irsay-Gordon, 44, has been preparing to take over the football side for years. She began her career by interning in several departments while attending Skidmore College, has attended NFL owner\u2019s meetings since 2004 and took over as the team\u2019s principal owner during her father\u2019s suspension in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>For years, she has been heavily involved on the football side to learn the game \u2014 wearing headsets on the sideline during games, attending almost every practice and participating in meetings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you talk football with her, she gets it,\u201d Steichen said. \u201cShe goes over the defensive stuff, the offensive stuff, she\u2019s been involved since I\u2019ve been here. From day one, very hands-on, and she\u2019s been tremendous. I think she\u2019s going to do a phenomenal job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Irsay-Gordon is also already actively involved at the NFL level, serving on the league\u2019s Media Owned &amp; Operated Committee, the 32 Equity Committee, the Security &amp; Fan Conduct Committee and the league\u2019s strategic capital fund, as well as on the board of the NFL Player Care Foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Foyt, who was focused on marketing and community relations, also helped the NFL hold the first regular-season game in London.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jackson has been the driving force for the Kicking the Stigma initiative, and she\u2019s also a member of the boards of Project Healthy Mind, the United Way of Central Indiana while serving as the president of the Indianapolis Colts Women\u2019s Organization. She also chairs the league\u2019s Employee Benefits Committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Both Irsay-Gordon and Jackson have been a daily presence for the team for years, forging the same kind of relationships that defined their father\u2019s tenure as owner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCarlie, Kalen, especially those two, they\u2019re in here daily, they\u2019re talking to players, having one-on-one conversations, asking us what we think we need,\u201d wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. said. \u201cThat\u2019s something you don\u2019t really see.
