White reportedly has been spending more time on the edge this spring and has been seen working with Harold Landry and others on pass-rush moves, receiving guidance from Smith. <\/p>\n
\u201cI also have a really good coach telling me \u2014 coach Smith telling me steps, alignment, things like that that I haven\u2019t traditionally heard,\u201d White said. \u201cJust that next step of having that coach behind me has been good for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

White added: \u201cIt\u2019s helpful for me because it slows it down for me. It trains me like \u2014 he\u2019s (Smith) doing a good job of saying, \u2018This is what you did,\u2019 \u2018This is your thought process.\u2019 And that\u2019s something I don\u2019t think I had before and what I was missing.\u201d<\/p>\n
A second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, White started his career under head coach Bill Belichick. He appreciated Belichick\u2019s style during their one season together and sees similarities in Vrabel.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like Mike. He leads with work. I can respect that,\u201d White said. \u201cIt\u2019s similar to\u00a0Bill\u00a0(Belichick), just with a younger face. I think we all know how I feel about that; I liked him. So it\u2019s comforting to know that you have a hard-ass at the helm who will not be afraid to fistfight with you in a back alley.\u201d<\/p>\n
White and the Patriots conclude their mandatory minicamp Wednesday and report to training camp July 22.<\/p>\n
