Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones\u00a0told reporters\u00a0\u201cthere\u2019s a good chance\u201d that cornerback Trevon Diggs may be sidelined at the beginning of the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

If healthy, Alexander could start alongside DaRon Bland while Diggs recovers from\u00a0knee surgery.

While Alexander has been limited to a total of just 14 games across the past two seasons, he\u2019s shown an ability to play at a very high level, and the Cowboys can afford to take a few risks on their path back to contention. Who knows? He might just enjoy a long second career in Dallas, where his star will shine brighter than ever.<\/p>\n
