The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> have added a new quarterback to their roster. They announced the signing of Jacoby Brissett to a two-year deal. He comes in to be the backup quarterback to Kyler Murray.<\/p>\n

Brissett, a nine-year vet, actually holds a positive NFL record.<\/p>\n

His career 1.4% interception percentage is the lowest in NFL history (minimum of 1,500 passing attempts).<\/p>\n

He has thrown only one interception in the last two seasons.<\/p>\n

This might be one of the most important metrics for a backup quarterback to have \u2014 the ability to not mess things up.<\/p>\n

Brissett certainly is not a big playmaker, but he will be a caretaker for a team whether it is filling in to finish a game or to spot start. His record as a starter is only 19-34, but the fact that he has started 53 games over eight seasons and has five seasons with at least five starts for four different teams shows that he is a quarterback who can be trusted.<\/p>\n
