The Carolina Panthers<\/a>\u2019 2025 regular-season opener is set to be a family affair.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Sept. 7, the Panthers will visit<\/a> EverBank Stadium to lock up against the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>. That\u2019ll be where rookie running back Trevor Etienne gets to reunite with his brother, Jaguars running back Travis Etienne.<\/p>\n

Etienne\u2014Trevor, that is\u2014was asked about the game following the final practice of mandatory minicamp this afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t get any better than that, for real,\u201d Etienne told reporters<\/a> on Thursday. \u201cIt\u2019s like, you dream of being in the NFL. Then your brother\u2019s in the NFL. You get a chance to compete at this level, and then y\u2019all play each other Week 1. So, I mean, it couldn\u2019t be written up any better than that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carolina selected<\/a> Etienne in the fourth round of this year\u2019s draft. The Jennings, La. native played three years of college ball, splitting his time between the University of Florida (2022 to 2023) and the University of Georgia (2024).<\/p>\n

As for the beginning of his pro career, Etienne shared his vision for that Week 1 matchup.<\/p>\n

\u201cPanthers coming out on top,\u201d he later stated. \u201cThat\u2019s how I\u2019m looking at it. That\u2019s what I\u2019m going into the game, where my mindset is. I\u2019m rooting for brother, hope he has the best game of his career. But they can\u2019t win.\u201d<\/p>\n
