{"id":128434,"date":"2025-06-14T04:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-14T04:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/128434\/"},"modified":"2025-06-14T04:51:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T04:51:10","slug":"local-businesses-take-centre-stage-at-saints-charity-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/128434\/","title":{"rendered":"Local businesses take centre stage at Saints&#8217; charity tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Businesses took to the football pitch for the Saints Foundation&#8217;s annual charity tournament to raise\u00a0\u00a317,000.<\/p>\n<p>On June 6, St Mary&#8217;s welcomed 24 teams from local businesses participated in two tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>The event created great excitement, with colleagues, friends, and families cheering from the stands.<\/p>\n<p>Adams Morey, Red Funnel, Morgan Sindall, Mackoy Ltd, Connect IT, Selwood, Pangea Insurance, Orange Rooms, BW Residential, and Bargate Homes were among the afternoon participants.<\/p>\n<p>The evening tournament featured Williams Shipping, Taylor Wimpey, CSM, Solent Stevedores, DP World, Herbert William, AE Insurance Broker, Persimmon Homes, BCD, Carnival UK, Meachers, and Barratt Homes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyecho.co.uk\/news\/25229164.mum-football-mascot-raises-safety-concerns-pitch-invasion-st-marys\/?ref=ial\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:READ MORE: Mum of football mascot raises safety concerns after pitch invasion at St Mary&#039;s;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">READ MORE: Mum of football mascot raises safety concerns after pitch invasion at St Mary&#8217;s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The competition supported the Saints Foundation, the charity arm of Southampton Football Club.<\/p>\n<p>Jazz Bhatti, Saints Foundation head of partnerships and business development, said: &#8220;Our Play at St Mary\u2019s tournament is a regular part of our calendar, and the local businesses always make it a competitive tournament with a great atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A huge congratulations to the Barratt Homes and SO14 Active, but a huge thank you to everyone who took part for their commitment to the day and helping us to support the community of Southampton.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SO14 Active emerged as winners of the first tournament, overcoming Red Funnel in the final.
