The Philadelphia Eagles are largely set on both sides of the ball this year. As the defending Super Bowl champions, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where their weaknesses are.<\/p>\n

Most analysts would agree that if there was one position to discuss more than others, it would be the defensive line.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia should be set at defensive tackle. Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, and Ty Robinson should be good enough to control the interior.<\/p>\n

There are questions at edge rusher, though.<\/p>\n

Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt appear to be the “penciled-in” starters outside on the line. Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche are quality free-agent pickups. Despite these four names, the Eagles should not be opposed to trying to find one more edge rusher to bolster this group.<\/p>\n

A.J. Epenesa of the Buffalo Bills is the perfect fit.<\/p>\n

The former second-round pick out of Iowa has recorded over six sacks in his last three seasons with the Bills. He’s entering the final year of his contract and appears to be the odd man out in Buffalo.<\/p>\n

If the Bills want to get anything for the 26-year-old (outside of an eventual comp pick), it could be argued they should trade him immediately.<\/p>\n

The flip side? Buffalo, like Philly, is trying to get to a Super Bowl and therefore needs players, not picks.<\/p>\n

With over 13 projected draft picks in 2026, the Eagles have plenty of ammo to get a deal done for Epenesa. The edge rusher struggled in 2025 but was graded as a better run defender than a pass rusher.<\/p>\n

That fits what the Eagles need. Uche and Ojulari are pass rushers. They don’t make their money by stopping the run. Trading for a player like Epenesa would help complement the two at a healthy level.<\/p>\n

And keep Philadelphia’s offensive line among the elite in the sport.<\/p>\n
