The Steelers\u2019 upcoming \u201cSouth Lawn Project\u201d will \u201cconvert approximately 10,000 square feet of lawn space into an artificial turf field that the team will use \u2018for the enjoyment of youth athletes\u2019 before and during Steelers games and events.\u201d Workers will begin on the field next month and \u201ccomplete the lawn\u2019s transformation by August,\u201d before the start of the upcoming NFL season. A new electronic sign spanning 1,117 sq-ft will replace &#8212; and \u201csignificantly\u202fdwarf\u201d &#8212; the 154-sq-ft multipurpose sign currently located at the site near Gate A. The Steelers intend for the sign, which will be installed on an exterior ramp tower spanning from the lower seats to the upper concourse, to be finished by April.
