The Dolphins are hoping that offensive linemen Austin Jackson<\/a> and James Daniels<\/a> will be ready by the team\u2019s regular season opener in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Jackson started just eight games last season before undergoing season-ending knee surgery<\/a>. He is expecting to be ready by training camp, per ESPN\u2019s Marcel Louis-Jacques<\/a>, where he is expected to retake his role as the Dolphins\u2019 starting right tackle.<\/p>\n

After the offseason departure of Kendall Lamm<\/a>, who started seven games in Jackson\u2019s stead in 2024, Miami has limited options at right tackle should Jackson suffer a setback. Jackson Carman<\/a>\u00a0started one game last season, while free agency addition\u00a0Larry Borom<\/a> has 1,045 career snaps at right tackle, per Pro Football Focus (subscription required<\/a>), though only 33 have come in the last two seasons.<\/p>\n

Daniels, who signed a three-year, $24MM contract with the Dolphins in March<\/a>, is coming off a torn Achilles suffered at the end of September<\/a>. His representation has said that he will be ready for Week 1, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald<\/a>, but the team will want to prepare their other guards in case Daniels\u2019 timeline does not work out. Liam Eichenberg<\/a>\u00a0started 14 games at right guard last year, so he will likely be the team\u2019s primary stopgap option if Daniels isn\u2019t ready for the regular season.<\/p>\n
