The former Wisconsin star generated an 82.0 PFF rushing grade and a 73.6 overall PFF grade in 2024,\u201d wrote PFF\u2019s Bradley Locker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAllen remains the backup to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jetsxfactor.com\/team\/breece-hall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Breece Hall<\/a>\u00a0in New York, but Hall\u2019s production declined in a big way last year, with only a 68.7 PFF rushing grade. If Allen can improve his pass-catching abilities (50.3 PFF receiving grade) and blocking prowess (52.7 PFF pass-blocking grade), he could emerge as more of an every-down back for the Jets,\u201d Locker continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter all, new OC Tanner Engstrand comes from a\u00a0Detroit Lions\u00a0team that gave\u00a0Jahmyr Gibbs\u00a0and\u00a0David Montgomery\u00a0each over 190 carries in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allen, 21, was <a href=\"https:\/\/jetsxfactor.com\/2024\/05\/14\/ny-jets-braelon-allen-film-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">selected in the fourth round<\/a> of the 2024 NFL draft. During his rookie campaign, the Wisconsin product rushed for 334 yards on 92 carries (3.6 YPA) with two touchdowns while appearing in all 17 games, and was most used in short-yardage situations. <\/p>\n<p>In the receiving game, Allen collected 148 yards and a touchdown on 19 receptions.<\/p>\n<p>Allen\u2019s physicality and bruising mentality could play a pivotal role in shaping the Jets\u2019 rushing attack this offseason. <\/p>\n<p>With new offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand arriving from Detroit, New York is expected to feature a backfield tandem of Hall and Allen.<\/p>\n<p>In Detroit, Jahmyr Gibbs was used for his elusiveness and big-play ability, while David Montgomery provided power between the tackles, similar to the skill sets Hall and Allen bring to the Jets.<\/p>\n<p>The stage is being set for Braelon Allen to assume a prominent role in the New York Jets\u2019 offense.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Will Braelon Allen make a significant impact for the New York Jets\u2019 2025 offense?
