NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Saints wrapped up day two of minicamp just before rain hit the metro area, giving fans one last glimpse of the team before practices close to the public.<\/p>\n
Veteran running back Alvin Kamara, one of the last remaining players from the Saints\u2019 last playoff run in 2020, said the team is \u201chungry\u201d to return to winning football.<\/p>\n
\u201cNobody likes losing, especially losing year after year,\u201d Kamara said. \u201cIt\u2019s just more hunger \u2014 to have that feeling more consistently of being a good team like we\u2019ve been around here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kamara said the energy brought in by first-year head coach Kellen Moore<\/a> is the beginning of a turnaround.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s different,\u201d Kamara said. \u201cI\u2019ve got to kind of train my mind to not look at how things used to be done. I\u2019ve got to get with this.\u201d<\/p>\n Moore has emphasized situational awareness in minicamp, especially during 7-on-7 drills, which have been a daily focus.<\/p>\n \u201cGuys are just understanding what they\u2019re trying to execute,\u201d Moore said. \u201cWhen you\u2019re playing potential four-down football, third down has to be played a little different.\u201d<\/p>\n Tomorrow marks the final day of Saints minicamp, but the practice will be closed to the public.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Cam Jordan, entering his 15th NFL season, is sporting a new platinum-blonde beard and renewed energy.<\/p>\n \u201cSensational, phenomenal, amazing \u2014 reinvigorated,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of adversity from last year that put a chip on a lot of guys\u2019 shoulders for this year.\u201d<\/p>\n Jordan said he drew inspiration from HBO\u2019s House of the Dragon for his new look and is adapting to Brandon Staley\u2019s 3-4 defensive scheme, which he believes will benefit players like Chase Young and Carl Granderson.<\/p>\n \u201cIsaiah Foskey looks like he\u2019s starting to move faster,\u201d Jordan added. \u201cThat\u2019s only going to help his game.\u201d<\/p>\n The Saints will break after minicamp and return in five weeks for training camp.<\/p>\n See a spelling or grammar error in our story?
