The Los Angeles Rams<\/a> added a few offensive weapons to the team during the 2025 NFL Draft with a rookie tight end, running back and receiver throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n

But none of those three are more important than second-round tight end Terrance Ferguson, though, who is poised to take on a big role early to upgrade the entire pass-catching unit. The Rams have lacked a true game-changing tight end for as long as Sean McVay has been the head coach. And with Tyler Higbee aging and a bit injury-prone, the Rams will look to lean on Ferguson early in his career.<\/p>\n

Ferguson was named one of the non-first-round tight ends with breakout potential as a rookie, according to Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski<\/a>. He predicted Ferguson will finish his rookie season with 50 receptions for 550 yards and five touchdowns.<\/p>\n

“The Los Angeles Rams have been searching for a legitimate threat at tight end for a couple of offseasons and finally snagged one they liked with this year’s second-round selection of Oregon’s Terrance Ferguson.<\/p>\n

“A year ago, general manager Les Snead tried to trade up for Brock Bowers, but the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> wanted nothing to do with moving out of the slot and passing on the elite tight end prospect.<\/p>\n

“Ferguson was never a heavily featured component to the Ducks offense, but it was clear that he has the size, length, athleticism and skill set to grow into a large part of the Rams’ system.<\/p>\n

“Expect Tyler Higbee to not be featured nearly as much as he was prior to last year’s injury-plagued campaign, with Ferguson getting more reps as he develops.”<\/p>\n

The Rams already have a formidable receiving duo in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, with one of the better young running backs in Kyren Williams. The addition of a competent and consistent tight end would only make this offense even more potent in 2025.<\/p>\n
