As Mike Tyson once famously said, “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face,” and for the Kansas City Chiefs last season, their receiver plan went out the window after four weeks.<\/p>\n

Marquise Brown was injured in preseason, and then Rashee Rice injured his knee and was ruled out for the season.<\/p>\n

That’s some hit to the stomach.<\/p>\n

And in truth, the Chiefs’ offense never really recovered, with Brown not seeing the field until Week 16. For some, this was a significant reason for the up-and-down nature of Patrick Mahomes’<\/a> play, as well as the offense as a whole.<\/p>\n

For SI\u2019s Albert Breer, the Chiefs’ receiver plan from last year is back on the front burner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the receivers are going to be better,\u201d Breer said<\/a>. \u201cI think there’s this vision they had for the offense last year, which was Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy stretching the defense out and Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce running underneath. I think that could really come into focus this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

If, and that is a big if, the injury bug can be kept at bay, the Chiefs offense has the nucleus of a good unit.<\/p>\n

Xavier Worthy, Rice, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Brown as the top four, and Jalen Royals, Skyy Moore to go with Travis Kelce and Noah Gray, that is a solid group.<\/p>\n

But as we know, things rarely go smoothly throughout a full season, and last year, the Chiefs’ top offseason signing was Brown, and their top receiver, Rice, were both out after Week 4.<\/p>\n

Now, as we turn to minicamp for the Chiefs, that receiver plan is back on, and if they can stay healthy, the revenge tour in 2025 will be well and truly alive.<\/p>\n
