The San Francisco 49ers traded away star wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders earlier this offseason, so their other weapons will have to step up.<\/p>\n

Many have suggested that the team should look for someone in free agency or a trade to fill the void left behind by Samuel’s departure, but general manager John Lynch does not necessarily see it that way.<\/p>\n

“We always keep a look for what\u2019s out there, but we do like our group,” Lynch said in an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area\u2019s Matt Maiocco (via David Bonilla of 49ers Webzone<\/a>). “I think, first of all, you start with Jauan. Jauan had a tremendous season last year. He\u2019s been a tremendous competitor, player for us since he\u2019s been here\u2026 Ricky is a really ascending player we\u2019re excited about. Just scratched the surface of who he could be. And Ricky\u2019s going to play well for us this year. I\u2019m confident in that.”<\/p>\n

Brandon Aiyuk will miss the start of the 2025 season rehabbing from his knee injury that he suffered this past season, but the other guys will look to step into a bigger role this season regardless.<\/p>\n

Ricky Pearsall only played in 11 games in his rookie season after being shot in an attempted robbery, but he was fantastic in the time that he was able to play. As for Jauan Jennings, he was one of the most underrated players in the league last season with just under 1,000 receiving yards.<\/p>\n

Losing a player of Samuel’s caliber is never going to be easy on a team, but Lynch seems confident that his guys can step up and get the job done.<\/p>\n
