Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is still looking to prove himself with the defending AFC champs.<\/p>\n

After last season, which saw Brown only hit the field in Week 16<\/a> thanks to a shoulder injury suffered in preseason, the speedy receiver, when he did return, didn’t have the impact he wanted.<\/p>\n

Given that he was on a one-year deal, Brown could have been forgiven for thinking he would be on another team in 2025, but the Chiefs came calling.<\/p>\n

And the chance to rectify his 2024 season landed at his feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was grateful for the opportunity,\u201d Brown said<\/a>. \u201cFor them to even allow me to come back and allow me to help the team, so just build off of that and build off the experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Posting just 141 yards from 14 receptions in five games isn’t the return Brown would have wanted, but he didn’t have the time to build on-field chemistry with Patrick Mahomes and the rest of his teammates.<\/p>\n

He will hopefully get that chance at minicamp and then training camp before hitting the 2025 season ready to put last year’s failures behind him.<\/p>\n

Of course, that is all up to the football gods, as Brown went through all of the offseason training, only to be struck down in the Chiefs’ preseason games.<\/p>\n

So, we imagine he will be a little wary this time around. While injuries happen in football, we don’t think Brown can afford to be sidelined for a significant period, as he was last season.<\/p>\n

If the Chiefs are to avenge their Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown will have to play a large role for Andy Reid.<\/p>\n

He’s got his chance; now he has to make the most of it.<\/p>\n
