Now we know exactly when it starts.<\/p>\n<p>The team\u2019s rookies will report to Halas Hall for camp on July 19. Veterans will show up a few days later, on July 22.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/joint-practices-dates-locations-teams-2025-nfl-preseason\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">released that information<\/a> on Wednesday afternoon, along with report dates from across the league.<\/p>\n<p>The first full-squad practice will presumptively come shortly after the veteran report date, and then it\u2019s on.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL also announced dates for joint practices, including two previously reported sessions conducted at Halas Hall.<\/p>\n<p>The Bears will host a joint practice against the Miami Dolphins on Aug. 8. They\u2019ll host another on Aug. 15 against the Buffalo Bills. Those sessions will occur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagobears.com\/schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">two days prior to preseasons contests<\/a> against those clubs at Solider Field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way I view those in the past have been, it\u2019s a\u00a0good\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to\u00a0break\u00a0up\u00a0camp\u00a0a\u00a0little\u00a0bit\u00a0in a\u00a0controlled\u00a0setting\u00a0\u2013 yet high intensity,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8gk7Ge-Rfng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Johnson said on May 28<\/a>. \u201cI think the competitive nature\u00a0of\u00a0just\u00a0about everybody \u2013 once you get in between those white lines\u00a0against\u00a0an opponent like that, it goes\u00a0up\u00a0another notch. That\u2019ll be good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll be\u00a0at that point in training\u00a0camp\u00a0where we\u2019ve had, call it 12, 13, 14 practices in,\u00a0and just\u00a0a\u00a0little\u00a0bit\u00a0different will be good for us. For everybody, coaches\u00a0and players\u00a0alike. It\u2019ll be fun\u00a0to\u00a0go\u00a0against\u00a0a\u00a0different scheme. That thought process, the problems that\u00a0arise that way, but\u00a0also for our players being\u00a0able\u00a0to\u00a0compete\u00a0against\u00a0a\u00a0different opponent. The\u00a0controlled\u00a0setting\u00a0of\u00a0it is really important.
