The transfer portal continues to reshape the college football<\/a> landscape\u2014and the Vols are feeling the full impact. Tennessee\u2019s hopes of making the playoffs next season are certainly facing an uphill battle.<\/p>\n

Iamaleava and his transfer from Tennessee<\/a> to UCLA has been the biggest news of the offseason so far, which has raised polarizing opinions all across the nation. Many argue against Iamaleava\u2019s move to UCLA, stating it\u2019s a troubling sign of the NIL-driven times that loom over the NCAA\u2019s sky. Others differ.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Deion Sanders<\/a> and the Buffaloes will vye to put the league on notice after the departure of Shedeur and Shilo Sanders to the NFL. In hopes of aiding the needs in a roster hungry for glory in Boulder, Deion has now added two players from the Vols to the Buffs.<\/p>\n

Former Volunteers offensive lineman Larry Johnson III has signed with the Buffaloes<\/a>, after two years in Knoxville, where he participated in 15 career games in Knoxville, including 11 contests in 2024, mostly at left tackle, per On3.<\/p>\n

In addition, Primetime\u2019s Buffs signed safety John Slaughter, who transferred from Tennessee, as well. Slaughter has appeared in 23 games after two years with the Volunteers, recording one interception.<\/p>\n

Deion and the Buffaloes made more roster moves as Colorado didn\u2019t end the transfer portal signings at Johnson III and Slaughter. The Buffaloes added another weapon for their secondary, bringing in freshman Noah King who is transferring from the Kansas State Wildcats.<\/p>\n

King hasn\u2019t played in college football, as he was a member of the incoming 2025 recruiting class. As he joins Sanders and company in Boulder, King will have four years of eligibility remaining in the NCAA<\/a>.
