The Denver Broncos are losing their director of college scouting.<\/p>\n

And unfortunately it\u2019s to a hated rival, the Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n

Brian Stark will continue to work in the AFC West, but he\u2019ll be moving to the desert and leaving Denver. Albert Breer of \u201cThe MMQB\u201d was the first to report the news.<\/p>\n

The @Raiders<\/a> are hiring @Broncos<\/a> director of college scouting Brian Stark as their new assistant GM, per source. Vegas GM John Spytek and Stark were together in Denver years ago.<\/p>\n

As Breer mentions, Raiders GM John Spytek was with the Broncos from 2013-2016 before departing for the Buccaneers. He was a national scout for the Super Bowl 50 team prior to taking a job with Tampa Bay in 2016. He was named the new GM in Vegas just a few months ago.<\/p>\n

And Stark had been with the Broncos since 2012 where was began as an area scout. He eventually became a national scout and then was promoted to the director of college scouting in 2017<\/a>. It had to have been a hard decision, given how long he\u2019s worked in Denver, but becoming an assistant GM is a realistic path for Stark to one day be a potential NFL GM.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Broncos lost former assistant GM Darren Mougey to be the GM of the Jets in January<\/a>. That was just one of many departures the past few months in both the front office and the coaching staff. Rob Paton, the nephew of GM George Paton, also left to join Mougey in New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica and inside linebackers coach Greg Manusky<\/a> were both fired.<\/p>\n

Johnny Morton and David Shaw<\/a> both left for the Lions, Declan Doyle<\/a> departed for the Bears and Chris Banjo<\/a> also went to the Jets. Those were all promotions, with Morton becoming the offensive coordinator in Detroit, Doyle the OC in Chicago and Banjo the special teams coordinator in New York. It\u2019s been said Shaw wanted to get back into coaching, so he left his front office role with the Broncos to become the Lions pass-game coordinator.<\/p>\n

But when you win, other teams want to get their hands on your staff. Stark is the latest to leave the Broncos, as he\u2019ll now help the Raiders try to get back to relevancy in the competitive AFC West.<\/p>\n
