Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>\u00a0players are just getting back for spring activities, which means first thoughts on big changes.<\/p>\n

One of those big changes comes on the defensive side of the ball, where players such as Logan Wilson will lead the charge under new coordinator Al Golden in place of Lou Anarumo.<\/p>\n

During an interview with CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia, Wilson acknowledged that Anarumo’s defense seemed simplified down the stretch late last season and that while Anarumo’s approach gave them rules to fall back on, it remains a key area of importance for an overall defense.<\/p>\n

“It was cut and dry, black and white, there was no gray area,” Wilson said. “I think that’s important…react and play football, don’t over-complex things that don’t need to be more complex than they need to be.”<\/p>\n

Wilson was also encouraged by the Bengals<\/a> drafting linebackers Demetrius Knight and Barrett Carter because it will afford the unit flexibility. In turn, each linebacker won’t be locked into such predictable roles for the opposing offense to read before the snap.<\/p>\n

As a whole, it’s a really interesting look at how one key Bengals leader feels about last season and the future for his rebuilding unit:<\/p>\n
