I first met Jim Irsay at a press conference in 1984 when the official announcement was made that the Indianapolis Colts\u2019 preseason training camp would be held at Anderson University (then Anderson College).<\/p>\n
Irsay, who died May 21 at age 65, was the new general manager of the team his father, Robert Irsay, had brought from Baltimore in the fabled Mayflower midnight move. The younger Irsay had been active with the team since his teenage years, first as a ball boy when his dad assumed ownership of the club in 1972.<\/p>\n
