The Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> held their 5th annual Nike 11-On this past weekend at\u00a0The Bolt, the NFL<\/a> team\u2019s new state-of-the-art facility in El Segundo, California. The two-day event included over 750 tackle and flag participants from high schools across the Southern California region.<\/p>\n

In the tackle competition, Orange Lutheran won the overall title. The Lancers, who finished No. 13<\/a> in the nation last year in the High School Football America 300<\/a>, powered by NFL Play Football<\/a>, went undefeated to win the 7-on-7 passing tournament championship. Nico Bland, a Class of 2026 wide receiver, earned the \u201cFastest Man\u201d title and the Lancers also dominated the lineman challenges. Long Beach Poly, Palos Verdes, Mira Costa,\u00a0and\u00a0Newbury Park\u00a0rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n

Chargers wide receiver\u00a0Tre Harris, tight end\u00a0Oronde Gadsden, and defensive lineman\u00a0Teair Tart\u00a0attended Saturday\u2019s tackle competition. The linemen received coaching from 15-year NFL veteran and 4-time Super Bowl champion\u00a0Jesse Sapolu\u00a0and his\u00a0Men in the Trenches<\/a>\u00a0group.<\/p>\n

The event began on Friday with 14 girls\u2019 flag football programs. Los Angeles Chargers first-round selection\u00a0Omarion Hampton\u00a0and wide receiver\u00a0Quentin Johnston\u00a0were on hand as the teams competed in a variety of events, including the \u201cFastest Girl\u201d race, farthest throw, and tug-of-war. Each team also played three games, with\u00a0Western Christian\u00a0going undefeated and taking home the championship title.\u00a0St. Joseph, Orange Lutheran, Mira Costa,\u00a0and\u00a0Panorama\u00a0rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n
